Our cage-free Nellies roam where they please

Our Nellies are very social creatures. They have the run of our spacious cage-free barns where they often congregate in contented cackling groups.

A typical day includes scratching around with friends, meeting at the feeder for some wholesome natural grain and laying eggs in the comfort of their own nests. In good weather, they scratch around outside in our winter gardens. At night, they roost together on roomy perches.

Clean, well-ventilated barns are essential to maintaining our hens' health and productivity. We continually monitor our barns for cleanliness, ventilation, temperature, lighting and waste removal. We make sure our Nellies have plenty of food and water and space for nesting, scratching and roosting.
